Medicine Walks
Medicine walks are similar to forest bathing experiences, which encourage mindfulness and a multi-sensory experience of nature. Using sensory exercises and different meditation techniques I will take you on a journey with the landscape where each step, each thought, each marvel we encounter becomes part of our conversation with the land and with our inner voice. It is as much a journey within as a journey without, where we encounter guidance, insights and healing.
If you are a beginner or have never done anything like this before I can teach you some simple exercises that can help open this world of communication up for you. We will practice them together and you will learn through your own experience just how much life is speaking to you. If you are experienced with meditation and forest bathing then we can work much deeper with your intention, creating together a powerful ritual with the land to bring energy to your intention and find the answers you seek.
Medicine walks are a shamanic practice, a form of vision quest with the land and spirit who moves through all things, they are meant to be taken seriously with attention and focus, however that does not mean that the spirit of playfulness and curiosity is unwelcome, it very much is so long as we are clear on the intentions for the medicine walk and respect them.
Forest bathing has been widely promoted recently as a beneficial practice for physical and mental health. There are plenty of studies demonstrating the physiological, mental and emotional benefits of conscious time spent in nature. There is no doubt, in my experience, that this is true and to me it is only the tip of the iceberg. When we shift our vision from separation to oneness, when we seek answers directly from life, it is amazing what we find.
